Margot Wolk told an interviewer nearly 60 years after the events about her time in Prussia as a 'taster' for Hitler's food. Rosella Postorino wrote a best selling novel about these events which has now been turned into an Italian film in the Greman language. A rare beast in the film world.
It's a gripping afair from Directer Silvio Soldini and stars Elisa Schlott (Das Boot, The Empress) as Rosa, the 'Berliner' who at her husband's request flees the bombing of Berlin to stay with his parents in Prussia. He's fighting on the Eastern Front and as it's 1943, post Stalingrad, many are nervous about the war's outcome. Schlott is excellent throughout.
