Magic Naples (Napoli Magica) film trailer HERE
Considered the heart of the south of Italy, Naples has enraptured its inhabitants and visitors for generations. In this film, a mix of documentary and myth actor/director Marco D’Amore (the massive star of Italian crime series Gomorrah) sets out to uncover why his beloved Naples is said to be magical. And the start is nothing short of wonderful. Behind wonderful music, D'Amore and his film crew arrive in Naples and start to explore its streets and people. His warmth and charisma are palpable.
He presents the city as a world suspended between reality and representation, ruthless truth and admirable fiction. With curiosity and attention, he unearths its mysteries, legends, tragedies, love and a three-thousand-year-old maze of tunnels – the tomb of the secrets on which the entire city rests.
From reality to fairy tales, iconic locations come to life, including the Fontanelle cemetery, Castel dell’Ovo, the chapel of the Veiled Christ and the Catacombs of San Gaudioso.
The viewer is invited to dive into the mystery during his journey, where the city takes on new shapes and contours, and Naples is seen from an infinite number of views – from the heights of the hills to the depths of the underground passages and the spirits of its past.
