Parthenope is a double barrelled art house drama which begins in 1950 with the birth of Parthenope who grows up to be a beautiful woman and ends in 2023 with an unforgettable sequence when she is back in Naples breathing in the streets at night. It's important to note that people from Naples are sometimes referred to as Parthenopeans and Naples as Parthenope so this film has two major themes which often run in lockstep with one another.
