The highest grossing Irish language film of all time. It's a real pleasure to add this film to the Festival this year.

Winner 11 Irish Film Awards. Rural Ireland, 1981. A quiet, neglected girl is sent away from her overcrowded, dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer. She blossoms in their care, but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one painful truth.

The cinematography is absolutlely gorgeous.  The acting superb.

It's also has an underlying thread about the noise men make and how that keeps women quiet.
